I love having everything in one place! And I guess I won’t be missing things because I seldom go on Facebook, and don’t even go on Decent Films unless I’m looking for something specific. (Although I have recommended it to many other people, all of whom were very interested!)
Just to be clear, my Decent Films Substack is just for my film writing—for everything I’m writing, including homilies and (eventually—it’s coming!) other stuff, you want All Things SDG! https://allthingssdg.substack.com/
Well, T, contenders would include (in alphabetical order): American Fiction; Anatomy of a Fall; The Holdovers; Killers of the Flower Moon; La Chimera; May December; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One; Oppenheimer; Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse; Suzume; Tori and Lokita; and The Zone of Interest.
Suzume and Dead Reckoning are in my top 15, and Spider-Verse in my top 3. My #1 is Full Time, and this is the first year where my favorite is so obscure that almost nobody else is talking about it.
I'm eager to see your full Cabrini review. I was down in Portland with family members yesterday, and it was the first time I've heard any of them bring up even the vaguest interest in a movie in years! So, the "marketing to evangelical churchgoers" machine must be working.

Hi SDG! It's great to hear from you again and get some confirmation that you're still writing. Looking forward to reading what comes next!
So good to hear from you, P!
If you were to make at least a top 10 list of last year, do you know what would be in it?
